The Onboarding Journey

Please check Portal for all communication updates.

Onboarding Journey Diagram

Here's a run-down of what will happen now, and what we need you to do:

  1. Pay the upfront fee(s).

  2. You'll get a link to Portal via email. There, you can complete the business overview form. You might need to share additional supporting documents at this stage to support the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) check.
  3. The Directors and Shareholders of your business will be invited to complete the AML check via SumSub.
  4. You'll get an invite to sign up to Portal via email.
  5. You'll be introduced to one of our Customer Success Managers (CSMs), who'll verify your VAT requirements.
  6. Next, you'll need to complete the Company Information and Jurisdiction-related forms in Portal, and upload the required Company Documents.
  7. The Onboarding Team will review all the information and documents you've provided us. They'll create a Power of Attorney (POA) for the Company Director to sign. It needs to be signed by hand, and either re-uploaded to Portal or mailed to our office in Hove, depending on the jurisdiction where you're registering.
  8. At this stage, we may need additional documentation from you. Please check Portal for any communication about this.
  9. Once we have all the documents, information and signatures we need, we send your application to the Tax Authorities. If you require back-dated returns, we'll get started on them at this stage.
  10. You'll have a 6-week check-in with your Customer Success Manager, who'll update you and give you the next steps for returns and invoicing.
  11. Once your VAT number has been issued by the Tax Authority, we'll send you your VAT certificate with the date your registration starts. If you're applying for One Stop Shop (OSS), this is when we'll send off your application (you'll need a SEPA Euro bank account for this).
  12. Your SimplyVAT account is set up with your API links, and we complete any backdated returns.
  13. You have a final meeting with your Customer Success Manager, who'll help you finish setting up.
